Movie Stars and Gossip
There’s been so much talk of who will be involved in the main event on April 7th at Wrestlemania but so far there hasn’t been very much buzz about what other matches will be featured to pad out the undercard. In my opinion no match that appears at any Wrestlemania should just be ‘off the cuff’ or thrown together. Wrestlers should have to earn their spot and earn the right to a match. Throwing Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston in a match with no build was (barely) acceptable at Elimination Chamber such a thing cannot happen at ‘Mania.
Therefore, here is our list of 5 matches WWE needs to build towards to help make their undercard strong to support 3 potentially huge matches (if Undertaker/Punk goes ahead).
Bo Dallas surprised everybody at the Royal Rumble when he eliminated Intercontinental champion Wade Barrett. The next night on RAW Dallas even pinned the former Nexus leader. Since then things have been pretty quiet between the two. Everyone loves an underdog so why not begin to rebuild this feud with the final pay off being an Intercontinental Championship match at Wrestlemania 29? It’s been a number of years since the Intercontinental Title was featured at ‘Mania in a worthwhile manner and what’s more worthwhile then helping a breakout Superstar get over? You could either have Dallas fall short but look strong in defeat or even better have him beat Barrett again (not with an arm drag though please) and create a true fairytale moment.
If you’re worried that losing to Bo Dallas at Wrestlemania would hurt Barrett’s career then think again. Barrett is a great choice for Intercontinental Champ but he’s destined for a real main even run and 2013 mat finally be his year. With the list of top names he’s defeated there should be no worries about whether he’ll suffer by losing at Wrestlemania.
